Lancaster is a city in Fairfield County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 38,780. It is located near the Hocking River, approximately 33 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio. It is the county seat of Fairfield County. The current mayor of Lancaster is Republican David S. Smith, who took office in January 2004. In November 2007, Smith won reelection to a second four-year term commencing in January 2008.

Lancaster High School (Ohio)

Lancaster High School is a secondary-level public high school located in Lancaster, Ohio and is the only high school within the Lancaster City Schools district. The current building was opened during the fall of 1963, at a cost of $3,198,991.87. Currently, the building houses grades 9-12, a recent change due to the failure of multiple bond and levy issues voted down in local elections, forcing the closure of the freshman-only Stanbery Campus of the high school.
