Euclid Beach Park

Euclid Beach Park (1895 – September 28, 1969) was a popular amusement park located on the southern shore of Lake Erie in the Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally incorporated by investors from Cleveland and patterned after New York's Coney Island, the park was managed by William R. Collinwood school fire

The Collinwood school fire (also known as the Lake View School fire) of Ash Wednesday, March 4, 1908, was one of the deadliest disasters of its type in the United States. The conflagration in Collinwood, Ohio, a community that has since been absorbed into the city of Cleveland, resulted in the deaths of 172 students, two teachers and a rescuer. While the Lake View School was built with load-bearing masonry outer walls, much of the four story building's floor structure system used wooden joists.

Collinwood

Collinwood is a neighborhood on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally a village in Euclid Township, it was annexed by the city in 1910. Collinwood grew around the rail yards of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway and is divided by these same tracks into a North and South section.
