The population was 12,362 at the 2010 census. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 43,784, which is a decrease of 6.8% from 46,966 in 2000. Its county seat is Bucyrus. The Bucyrus Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Crawford County.
