Urbana is a city in and the county seat of Champaign County, Ohio, United States, 47 miles west of Columbus. Urbana was laid out in 1805, and for a time in 1812 was the headquarters of the Northwestern army. Urbana was named after the town of Urbanna, Virginia. It is the burial place of the Indian fighter Simon Kenton. In 1900, 6,808 people lived in Urbana; in 1910, 7,739; and in 1940, 8,335. The population was 11,793 at the 2010 census. It is the home of Urbana University.

Grimes Field is a city-owned public-use airport located one nautical mile (1.85 km) north of the central business district of Urbana, a city in Champaign County, Ohio, United States. Named for Warren G. Grimes, it is also known as Urbana Municipal Airport and it serves general aviation traffic. The airport is home to the Champaign Aviation Museum. It also houses a project to rebuild a World War II era B-17 Medium Bomber called the Champaign Lady.

TWA Flight 553
(TWA) Flight 553, registration N1063T, was a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-15 jet airliner operated by Trans World Airlines en route from Pittsburgh to Dayton that collided in mid-air with a Beechcraft Baron (a small general aviation airplane) near Urbana, Ohio on March 9, 1967. All 25 people on board the DC-9 were killed, as was the pilot of the Beechcraft, its sole occupant. Flight 553 departed from Greater Pittsburgh Airport en route to Dayton Municipal Airport.
