It is about one mile south of Camargo, one mile southeast of Hickory Corner, and two miles west of Pleasant Plain, and three miles north of Goshen, Ohio. It was laid out by John J. Cozad in 1871, who hoped to prosper from the site's location on the Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad. Cozaddale briefly had a post office in the 1870s.

It is located about two miles southwest of Hopkinsville, two miles west of Maineville, and two miles northeast of Twenty Mile Stand just off State Routes 22/3, the 3C Highway. (In the 1930s, the State of Ohio erected a new high bridge over the river that bypassed the community.
