Wakatomika, Ohio

Wakatomika is an unincorporated community in central Washington Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, United States. A post office was established at Wakatomika in 1823, but was closed down in 1909 and Wakatomika is now covered by the Trinway post office. Wakatomika is named after the Shawnee village of Wakatomika, which was located along the Muskingum River near the present day site of Dresden, Ohio. Wakatomika is located on the Little Wakatomika Creek, and lies along State Route 60.

Mohawk Dam

Mohawk Dam, located in Jefferson Township, Coshocton County, Ohio northwest of Nellie, is a dry dam constructed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the mid-1930s for the purpose of flood control on the Walhonding River. The dam is part of the larger 18-county Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD).
