Allen County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 106,331, which is a decrease of 2.0% from 108,473 in 2000. It is included in the Lima, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Lima–Van Wert–Wapakoneta Combined Statistical Area. It is named for Colonel John Allen, who was killed leading his men at the Battle of Frenchtown, during the War of 1812.
