Kamela, Oregon
Kamela is an unincorporated locale in Union County, Oregon, United States. It is located west of Interstate 84 about 20 miles northwest of La Grande. There are several stories about how the community got its name. Among the explanations are that it was made up by combining the initials of the civil engineers working on the local railroad construction, or that it is the Cayuse word for "tree".

The reservation is owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The reservation has a land area of 271.047 sq mi (702.009 km²) and a population of 2,927 as of the 2000 census. The largest community is Mission, which is the site of the Umatilla Agency of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Gibbon is a station on the Union Pacific railroad that was named for Major General John Gibbon, who was in command of the Department of the Columbia based in Vancouver, Washington from 1885-1886.
