West Hamburg, Pennsylvania

West Hamburg is a census-designated place in Tilden Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. It is located along Old US Route 22 and just west of PA Route 61 near the borough of Hamburg. The area is best known for having the biggest Cabela's store in the world. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,979 residents.

Schuylkill Gap

Schuylkill Gap is a water gap through Blue Mountain located about 3 miles north of Hamburg, Pennsylvania. The borough of Port Clinton, Pennsylvania resides within the gap itself. Formed in much the same way as Pennsylvania's other water gaps, Schuylkill Gap is near Hawk Mountain, Weiser State Forest, and some State Game Lands. PA Route 61 as well as the Schuylkill River pass through the gap.

Schuylkill Canal

Schuylkill Canal is the common, but technically inaccurate, name for the Schuylkill Navigation, a 19th-century commercial waterway in and along the Schuylkill River in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The "canal" was actually a system of interconnected man-made canals and slack-water pools in the river, which is called a navigation. The Schuylkill Navigation System opened in 1825 to provide transportation and water power.
