Fayette County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the population was 136,606. The county is part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fayette County was created on September 26, 1783, from part of Westmoreland County and named after the Marquis de Lafayette. Its county seat is Uniontown.

Penn State Fayette is a Commonwealth Campus of the Pennsylvania State University. The college is located in North Union Township, just outside of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
