East Pittsburgh is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, about 11 miles southeast of the confluence of the Monongahela and the Allegheny rivers at Pittsburgh. The borough prides itself in being the "Birth Place of Steel" for having Andrew Carnegie's Edgar Thomson Steel Works since 1873.
