Swarthmore (SEPTA station)

Swarthmore is a station along the SEPTA Media/Elwyn Line, on the former Pennsylvania Railroad's West Chester Line. It is located on Chester Road between downtown Swarthmore and the edge of the Swarthmore College campus (2 South Chester Road at Chester Road and Park Avenue, Swarthmore, PA 19081). Dollar-a-day parking and permit parking are available. It is the first outward bound Zone 3 station from the central Philadelphia stations.

Swarthmore, Pennsylvania

Swarthmore is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. Swarthmore was originally named Westdale in honor of noted painter Benjamin West, who was one of the early residents of the town. The name was changed to Swarthmore after the establishment of Swarthmore College. "Swarthmore" can be pronounced with the first "r" either vocalized or dropped due to differences in rhotic and non-rhotic accents. The borough population is 6,194 as of the 2010 census.

Swarthmore College

Swarthmore College is a private, highly selective liberal arts college in the United States with an enrollment of about 1,500 students. The college is located in the borough of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, 11 miles (17.7 km) southwest of Philadelphia. Founded in 1864, Swarthmore was one of the earliest coeducational colleges in the United States. The school was organized by a committee of Quakers prominent in the abolitionist and women's rights movements, including notable activist Lucretia Mott.

Sproul Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Swarthmore College. It is located in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, United States, and is named after William Cameron Sproul, the 27th Governor of Pennsylvania, who graduated from Swarthmore in 1891.

WSRN-FM

WSRN-FM, The "Worldwide Swarthmore Radio Network" is Swarthmore College's official campus radio station. It broadcasts out of the suburban Philadelphia borough of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Prior to the 1970s, WSRN operated as a carrier signal broadcast to the campus of Swarthmore College only.
