Schneider Arena is a 3,030-seat hockey arena in Providence, Rhode Island. It is home to the Providence College Friars men's and women's ice hockey teams. It was opened on September 24, 1973 with a 1-0 win over the University of Pennsylvania hockey team, and was named in honor of Rev. Herman D. Johnston, Rhode Island
Johnston is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 28,769 at the 2010 census. Johnston is the site of the Clemence Irons House (1691) a stone-ender museum and the only landfill in Rhode Island. Incorporated on March 6, 1759, Johnston was named for the colonial attorney general, August Johnston. Johnston has the lowest public school test scores of any town or city in Rhode Island.
