South Dakota State Capitol

The South Dakota State Capitol is the state capitol building of the U.S. state of South Dakota. Housing the South Dakota State Legislature, it is located in the state capital of Pierre at 500 East Capitol Avenue. The building houses the offices of most state officials, including the Governor of South Dakota.

South Dakota Governor's Residence

The South Dakota Governor's Residence is the official residence of the Governor of South Dakota. The first resident, Governor Mike Rounds, lived in the house after its dedication on August 3, 2005. Its current resident is Governor Dennis Daugaard. Construction began in the spring of 2004. Private and business donations funded the new mansion. The total cost of the project was $2.87 million.

T.F. Riggs High School is the high school in Pierre, South Dakota, USA. The school mascot is the Pierre Governors and Lady Governors. Pierre, South Dakota

Pierre is the capital of the U.S. state of South Dakota and the county seat of Hughes County. The population was 13,646 at the 2010 census, making it the second least populous state capital after Montpelier, Vermont. Founded in 1880 on the Missouri River opposite Fort Pierre, Pierre has been the capital since South Dakota gained statehood on November 11, 1889, having been chosen for its location in the geographic center of the state. Fort Pierre itself was named after Pierre Chouteau, Jr.
