Blue Cloud Abbey

Blue Cloud Abbey was a Benedictine monastery located near Marvin, South Dakota. It is a member of the Swiss-American Congregation. The patron saint of the monastery is the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of "Our Lady of the Snows". Blue Cloud was founded in 1950 from St. Meinrad Abbey in Indiana. The monks were involved in ministry on several Indian reservations. On 29 May 2012 the Benedictine monks of Blue Cloud Abbey, Marvin, South Dakota, voted to close their monastery.

Milbank, South Dakota

Milbank is a city in Grant County, South Dakota, along the South Fork of the Whetstone River. The population was 3,353 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Grant County. In 1925 The American Legion Department of South Dakota established a new program for high school aged youth that grew into a national program. Milbank is the birthplace of American Legion Baseball played in all fifty states by more than five thousand teams.
