Falfurrias, Texas

Falfurrias is a city in and the county seat of Brooks County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,297 at the 2000 census. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres.

KLDS

KLDS (1260 AM, "Radio Voz AM") is a radio station licensed to serve Falfurrias, Texas, USA. The station is owned by La Radio Cristiana Network, Inc. KLDS is unaffiliated with the LDS Church. KLDS broadcasts a Spanish-language religious radio format to the Rio Grande Valley and surrounding counties. The radio station began operations in 1953 broadcasting as KBLP with 500 watts of power, daytime-only, on a frequency of 1260 kHz under the ownership of Ben L. Parker.
