Green Lake (Texas)

Green Lake is a natural tidal lake in Calhoun County, Texas, on the Guadalupe River flood basin, known for its greenish waters, from which its name derives. The lake is 12 miles west of Port Lavaca and 22 miles south of Victoria on the Gulf Coastal Plain, and although less than 3 miles from the coast of San Antonio Bay, its waters are fresh. Covering an area of 10,000 acres (40 km²), it is the largest freshwater lake entirely in Texas.

San Antonio River

The San Antonio River is a major waterway that originates in central Texas in a cluster of springs in Midtown San Antonio, approximately four miles north of Downtown, and follows a roughly southeastern path through the state. It eventually feeds into the Guadalupe River about ten miles from San Antonio Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. The river is 240 miles long and crosses five counties: Bexar, Goliad, Karnes, Refugio, and Wilson.
