Dalhart Municipal Airport

Dalhart Municipal Airport is a city-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Dalhart, Texas, a city straddling the border of Dallam and Hartley counties in the northwest corner of the Texas Panhandle. The airport is not served by any commercial airlines at this time.

Dalhart Unit

The Dalhart Unit is a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison for men located in unincorporated Hartley County, Texas. The unit is along Farm to Market Road 998 and near U.S. Highway 54, 4 miles west and 1 mile south of Dalhart. It is located next to Dalhart Municipal Airport. As of 2000 Dalhart serves minimum and medium security inmates.

Dallam County, Texas

Dallam County is a county located in the far northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 6,703. It is named for James Wilmer Dallam, a lawyer and newspaper publisher. Its seat is Dalhart. It was founded in 1876. Dallam is the northernmost of the ten Texas counties that from 1885-1912 constituted the legendary XIT Ranch.
