McAllen Memorial High School is one of three high schools serving the McAllen, Texas area as a part of the McAllen Independent School District. It houses over 2,000 students from grades 9-12. The school originally opened in 1975, its current location is 101 East Hackberry Avenue McAllen, Texas, USA. The school colors are Columbia blue and gold and the mascot is a mustang. It is located at the southern tip of Texas in an area known as the Rio Grande Valley and is part of the American South. Its southern boundary is located on the Rio Grande River across the Mexican city of Reynosa, the Rio Grande, and about 70 miles west of South Padre Island and the Gulf of Mexico.

McAllen Convention Center
The McAllen Convention Center is a 174,000-square-foot multi-purpose convention center in McAllen, Texas, USA with a seating capacity of 3,500. Having opened in 2007, it hosts locals sporting events and concerts. It was home to the Continental Basketball Association's Rio Grande Valley Silverados, who played only one season in 2007 before leaving to become the Southeast Texas Mavericks. For 2013, it will be home to the McAllen Toros indoor football team of the Lone Star Football League

McAllen-Miller International Airport is an airport in McAllen, Texas, United States, located 2 miles south of the central business district. The airport has 2 runways and one terminal with 5 gates. According to the updated 20-year Master Plan for MFE, runway 13/31 will be extended to 10,000 ft. In addition, a parallel runway will be added. An expanded cargo apron will be on the south side of the airport. In early 2006, Gate 5 opened on the main concourse due to the arrival of Delta Connection.
