Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights, Utah is located about ten miles south of Salt Lake City. The school, which opened in 1969, is designed with two octagonal sections housing self-contained classrooms and a full auditorium. Cottonwood West was a census-designated place (CDP) in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. The CDP was situated between the cities of Holladay and Murray, which by the mid-2000s had annexed virtually all of the area between them. The population was 18,727 at the 2000 census, a slight increase over the 1990 census figure of 17,476. The area was known as South Cottonwood during the 1980 census, at which time the population was 11,117.

Cottonwood High School (Murray, Utah)
Cottonwood High School is a public high school located in Murray, Utah. Founded in 1970, by Tyson Burton after the Granite School District condemned the property and obtained the land from farmers, who bought the land from Native Americans. The current enrollment is just above 1,500 with many ethnic groups represented. It hosts traditional schooling, grades 10-12, as well as a public charter school, the Academy for Math, Engineering, and Science(AMES) which utilizes unused school space.
