Echo Dam

Echo Dam is a dam in Summit County, Utah, standing about six miles north of Coalville and creating Echo Reservoir. The earthen dam was constructed in 1931 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation. It has a height of 158 feet, impounding the water of the Weber River and 836 square miles of the Weber Basin for water storage and agricultural irrigation. Other Weber Basin projects of the Bureau include the upstream Rockport Reservoir.

Utah's 1st congressional district

Utah's 1st congressional district serves the northern area of Utah, including the cities of Ogden, Logan, and the northern half of the Great Salt Lake. The current member of the United States House of Representatives from the district is Republican Rob Bishop. President George W. Bush received 73% of the vote in this district in 2004.

Thousand Mile Tree

Thousand Mile Tree is a pine tree located in Weber Canyon near the community of Henefer, Utah along the Overland Route of the Union Pacific Railroad. In January 1869, graders of the railroad found a similar tree standing next to the line they were constructing, which by coincidence marked the western progress of exactly one thousand miles of road from Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa, the eastern terminus of the First Transcontinental Railroad.

Widowmaker hill climb

The Widow Maker Hill Climb is an outdoor motorcycle sport event held annually and sometimes semi-annually in Croyden, Utah, United States. It consists of two major professional competitions, the first being the motorcycle hill climb, which is held usually in the month of June of each year. The second competition is the snowmobile hill climb, which is usually held in the month of January.

Devil's Slide (Utah)

Devil's Slide is an unusual geological formation located in northern Utah's Weber Canyon, near the community of Croydon in Morgan County, Utah, United States. The slide consists of two parallel limestone strata that have been tilted to lie vertical, protruding 40 feet out of the mountainside. Intervening layers have eroded more quickly, forming a channel some 25 feet wide running hundreds of feet down the mountain. I-84 runs right past Devil's Slide, which can be clearly seen from the road.
