Big Mountain Pass

Big Mountain Pass (el. 7420 ft. ) is a mountain pass in the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. It is on the original route of the Mormon pioneers who crossed it in 1847 on their way to the Salt Lake Valley.

Little Dell Reservoir

Little Dell Reservoir is a reservoir in eastern Salt Lake County, Utah, USA, about 13 miles east of Salt Lake City in the western Wasatch Mountains. It is located alongside Utah State Route 65, about 1 mile northeast of Interstate 80. Little Dell is an impoundment on Dell Creek, but it also stores water diverted from Parleys Creek located immediately downstream. The reservoir was constructed between 1987 and 1993 for drinking water supply and flood control as a joint venture between the U.S.

Mountain Dell Dam

The Mountain Dell Dam provides a water equalizing and storage reservoir for Salt Lake City, Utah located 10 miles east of the city in northeastern Salt Lake County, near Interstate 80 in Parley's Canyon. Designed by John S. Eastwood, and constructed between 1914 and 1925, the dam is an example of a mixed buttress dam and multiple arch dam construction. At the time the plans were made, the city was in need of a sufficient supply of water, especially during late summer and the middle of winter.

Parley's Canyon

Parley's Canyon is a canyon located in the U.S. state of Utah. The canyon provides the route of Interstate 80 (and previously the Lincoln Highway, U.S. Route 40, and a railroad) up the western slope of the Wasatch Mountains and is a relatively wide, straight canyon other than near its mouth. The mountain pass at the top of the canyon is known as Parley's Summit. With an elevation of 7,120 feet, the pass is the highest point along I-80 in the state of Utah. Both features are named for Parley P.
