Manassas, Virginia

Manassas is an independent city surrounded by Prince William County and the independent city of Manassas Park in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. Its population was 37,821 as of 2010. Manassas also surrounds the 38-acre county courthouse, but that county property is not part of the city. The City of Manassas has several important historic sites from the period 1850–1870.

Battle of Bristoe Station

The Battle of Bristoe Station was fought on October 14, 1863, at Bristoe Station, Virginia, between Union forces under Maj. Gen. Gouverneur K. Warren and Confederate forces under Lt. Gen. A.P. Hill during the Bristoe Campaign of the American Civil War. The Union II Corps under Warren was able to surprise and repel the Confederate attack by Hill on the Union rearguard, resulting in a Union victory.

The Sports Network is an indoor soccer/lacrosse specific field located in Manassas, Virginia, in the United States. It has been known for local soccer tournaments held from January to April. Sports Network in Manassas is the premier indoor soccer facility in Northern Virginia. It was originally run by Jon Ellis who is a world renowned soccer coach.
