Montpelier is an unincorporated community in Hanover County in the central region of the U.S. state of Virginia. Montpelier is on U.S. Route 33, which was long named as "the Mountain Road" between Richmond and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The community is located midway between Richmond and President James Madison's home "Montpelier", and may have been named for the famous estate, which is a tourist attraction in modern times.

The house, at 93 feet by 35 feet, is one of the largest 18th-century homes to survive in the Americas.

Patrick Henry High School (Ashland, Virginia)
Patrick Henry High School is a high school in Ashland, Virginia in Hanover County. Patrick Henry has an International Baccalaureate program, as well as a NJROTC program. Patrick Henry is one of four high schools in Hanover County, and the only High school in the western half of the county. Patrick Henry opened in the fall of 1959 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in September 2009. During the 2010-2011 school year, a program called Rachel's Challenge was introduced.
