Founded in 1892, Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA) is a coeducational college preparatory school for students in grades 6-12 and postgraduates in Virginia, USA. Criser High School

Criser High School was an all-black school accommodating grades 1-12 constructed in 1959 in the Northern Virginia town of Front Royal, Virginia. Its opening occurred the same year 22 black students integrated the all-white Warren County High School which drew national media attention. After the Stanley plan, the legislative package implementing the massive resistance policies of Senator Harry F. Byrd, Sr.

Battle of Front Royal

The Battle of Front Royal, also known as Guard Hill or Cedarville, was fought May 23, 1862, in Warren County, Virginia, as part of Confederate Army Maj. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's Campaign through the Shenandoah Valley during the American Civil War. Front Royal demonstrated Jackson's use of Valley topography and mobility to unite his own forces while dividing those of his enemies.
