It is part of Fairfax County Public Schools. Like most Fairfax County schools, the building is of considerable size, consisting of two stories to accommodate its over 2,350 students.

The station is physically located in Oakton, though the station's official address is in Fairfax, in the median of Interstate 66 at Nutley Street. The station can be accessed from I-66 without merging onto Nutley Street via a series of ramps that transport commuters directly to the station's north and south side parking complexes.

Fairfax High School (Fairfax, Virginia)
Fairfax High School is a public high school in Fairfax, Virginia. The school is owned by the City of Fairfax, but is operated by Fairfax County Public Schools as part of a contractual agreement. The original school building, opened in 1936, is located on Lee Highway in western Fairfax City, and is currently occupied by Paul VI Catholic High School. Fairfax High School moved to its present site, on the east side of the city, in January 1972.
