Washington-Virginia Airport
The Washington-Virginia Airport was formerly an airport in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. The airport was first known as Crossroads Airport for the nearby Bailey's Crossroads. In 1942, a license was granted to build and operate an airport but it was not built until 1947 after World War II. The original two gravel runways were paved by 1962. The airport closed in 1970 due to encroaching suburban development from Washington, D.C.

Arlington Hall
Arlington Hall (also called Arlington Hall Station) was a former girl's school and the headquarters of the United States Army's Signal Intelligence Service (SIS) cryptography effort during World War II. The site presently houses the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, and the U.S. National Guard Readiness Center. It is located on Arlington Boulevard between S. Glebe Road and S. George Mason Drive in Arlington, Virginia.

Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC) is one of several locations that house the Foreign Service Institute (or "FSI"), the United States government's training school for members of the U.S. foreign affairs community. It is located at Arlington Hall in Arlington, Virginia.

Fort Richardson (Arlington, Virginia)
Fort Richardson was a detached redoubt constructed by the Union Army in September 1861 as part of the defense of Washington during the American Civil War. It was named for General Israel B. Richardson, whose division was then deployed to defend against attack by way of Columbia Turnpike. It had a perimeter of 316 yards and emplacements for 15 guns. It is now marked only by an historic marker on South 18th Street off of Glebe Road.
