Battle of Haw's Shop

The Battle of Haw's Shop or Enon Church was fought on May 28, 1864, in Hanover County, Virginia, as part of Union Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign against Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War. Grant abandoned the stalemate following the Battle of North Anna (May 23–26) by once again swinging widely around Lee's right flank, using the Pamunkey River to screen his movements to the southwest.

Lee-Davis High School

Lee-Davis High School is located in Mechanicsville, Virginia, United States, a suburb of Richmond. It currently has about 1700 students enrolled for the 2009-2010 school year. LDHS offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities for its students. It is the school that is fed by Stonewall Jackson Middle School. Old Church, Virginia

Old Church is an unincorporated community in Hanover County in the Central Region of the U.S. state of Virginia. Formerly consisting primarily of farmland, today Old Church includes many residents who commute to jobs in the metropolitan Richmond area. Old Church is also known for a Civil War campaign in the area. U.S. Brig. Gen. Alfred Torbert defeated C.S. Brig. Gen. Matthew C. Butler's forces, resulting in about 900 casualties.

Battle of Old Church

The Battle of Old Church, also known as Matadequin Creek, was fought on May 30, 1864, as part of Union Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign against Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War. As the opposing armies faced each other across Totopotomoy Creek, a Union cavalry division under Brig. Gen. Alfred T. A. Torbert collided with a cavalry brigade under Brig. Gen. Matthew C. Butler at Matadequin Creek, near the Old Church crossroads.
