The Inn at Little Washington is a luxury country inn and restaurant located in Washington, Virginia. Patrick O'Connell and Reinhardt Lynch founded the Inn in a former garage in 1978. It has been a member of the Relais & Châteaux hotel group since 1987, and ranked 52nd in the Elite Traveler World's Top Restaurants Guide 2012 .

Washington, Virginia

Washington is a town in Rappahannock County, Virginia. It is noted for being the oldest of the 28 towns and villages by the name of Washington in the United States of America. The site of this town was surveyed by George Washington himself in July 1749. Its population was just 135 people at the 2010 census, down from 183 in the 2000 census. It is also the county seat of Rappahannock County. It is nicknamed Little Washington to avoid confusion because of its proximity to Washington, D.C.

Rappahannock County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of 2010, the population was 7,373. Its county seat is Washington. The name "Rappahannock" comes from the Algonquian word lappihanne (also noted as toppehannock), meaning "river of quick, rising water" or "where the tide ebbs and flows."
