Cedonia, Washington

Cedonia (pronounced sĕh-dōn-ya) is a very small unincorporated village in Stevens County, Washington, United States. It lies along the Columbia River, at a section that is known as Lake Roosevelt, a reservoir created by Grand Coulee Dam. The area surrounding it is primarily a farming and ranching community with some logging activity. Cedonia comprises the Ye Olde Country Store, a veterinary clinic, and seven homes.

Midnite Mine

The Midnite Mine is a currently inactive uranium mine in the Selkirk Mountains, about eight miles from Wellpinit, Stevens County, Washington. The mine was listed as Superfund site on 5/11/2000. Located within the reservation of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, the mine was operated from 1955 until 1981 was developed and operated by Dawn Mining Company. Dawn is a subsidiary corporation 49 percent owned by Midnite Mines, Inc.
