The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, United States, is a public free-standing and independent medical school. The mission of the school is to educate students from diverse backgrounds as lifelong learners and to prepare them for careers in osteopathic medicine with a focus on primary care and rural medicine although a significant percentage of graduates go onto practice in many of the medical specialties.

Greenbrier Military School

The Greenbrier Military School was a boys-only, private, military, boarding high school located in Lewisburg, West Virginia. It was founded in 1812. It closed in 1972. The campus was then converted into the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, making that school the only medical school in the United States with a cannon on its campus. The school's alumni fund a scholarship at the osteopathic college.
