It is the county seat of Lincoln County. Hamlin is a part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 287,702. New definitions from February 28, 2013 placed the population at 363,000.

Culloden is a census-designated place (CDP) in West Virginia. Most of Culloden is in Cabell County, with the remainder in Putnam County. As of the 2010 census, the CDP population was 3,061 (2,683 in Cabell County, 378 in Putnam County). The Cabell County portion of Culloden is part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the Putnam County portion is considered part of the Charleston, WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. Milton, West Virginia

Milton is a town in Cabell County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 2,423 at the 2010 census. Milton is a part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 288,649. It incorporated in 1876 by David Harshbarger a large land holder, and is named for Milton Reese, Milton's first postmaster, in the vicinity at the time the town was established.
