WLPX-TV

WLPX-TV is the Ion Television affiliate for the Huntington-Charleston area. The station is located in Hurricane, West Virginia, in the Kanawha Valley between Charleston and Huntington. WLPX is currently owned by ION Media Networks, the former Paxson Communications. West Virginia State University

West Virginia State University (WVSU) is a historically black public college in Institute, West Virginia, United States. In the Charleston-metro area, the school is usually referred to simply as "State" or "West Virginia State". It is one of the original 1890 Land-Grant colleges and the smallest land-grant institution in the country. The University is a member-school of Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Jefferson is an unincorporated census-designated place in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States, along the Kanawha River. The population was 676 at the 2010 census. Jefferson was incorporated on March 22, 1997, but was disincorporated less than a decade later on February 21, 2007. In January 2001, Jefferson was profiled on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart by faux reporter Stephen Colbert.
