Maple Bluff, Wisconsin

Maple Bluff is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,313 at the 2010 census. It is a suburb of Madison and is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area. Maple Bluff is most well known as the site of Wisconsin Governor's Mansion. The Executive Mansion is the residence of the Governor of Wisconsin, and his family. The Robert M. LaFollette House is also in Maple Bluff.

Warner Park

Warner Park is a community park on the northeast side of Madison, Wisconsin near Lake Mendota. It is the annual home for the largest fireworks show in the Midwest, Rhythm and Booms. Warner Park is also the home to the Madison Mallards baseball team, a member of the Northwoods League. Its stadium, nicknamed the "Duck Pond", was built in 1982 and has a capacity of 7500. It also hosts the Madison LaFollette High School baseball team.

Smart Studios

Smart Studios was a recording studio located at 1254 E Washington Ave in Madison, Wisconsin. It was set up in 1983 by Butch Vig and Steve Marker to produce local bands. The studio became famous for producing artists such as Killdozer and Sub Pop artists Tad and eventually Nirvana. In fact, the version of their song "Polly" that appears on their album Nevermind was recorded there. The Smashing Pumpkins' debut album, Gish, was also recorded at Smart Studios.

Lake Mendota

Lake Mendota is the northernmost and largest of the four lakes near Madison, Wisconsin. The lake borders Madison on the north, east and south, Middleton on the west, Shorewood Hills on the southwest, Maple Bluff on the northeast, and Westport on the northwest. The shorelines of Lakes Mendota and Monona define the isthmus upon which Madison was built, with the lakes connected by the Yahara River.
