Son Tay prison camp

The Son Tay prison camp was a POW camp operated by North Vietnam near Son Tay town in the late 1960s through late 1970. About 65 captured US military personnel were held there during the middle of the Vietnam War.

Operation Ivory Coast

Operation Ivory Coast was a failed rescue mission conducted in North Vietnam during the Vietnam War by United States Special Operations Forces and other elements of the U.S. military. On November 21, 1970, a joint United States Air Force/United States Army force commanded by Air Force Brigadier General LeRoy J. Manor and Army Colonel Arthur D. "Bull" Simons landed 56 U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers by helicopter in the Sơn Tây prison camp located only 23 miles west of Hanoi, North Vietnam.

Ba Vì mountain range

The Ba Vì mountain range is a soil-limestone mountain range in Vietnam. It covers an area of about 50 km in Ba Vì, Lương Sơn and Kỳ Sơn districts. The Ba Vì mountain range is called "the lord of mountains" (núi chúa) in the Vietnamese spirit though it is not the highest mountain range in Vietnam. There are many peaks in this range, but the most famous one is Tản Viên Peak. Tản Viên Mountain is 1,281 m high. In Vietnamese mythology, this mountain is the home of Sơn Tinh, the mountain god.
