Thiền Quang Lake

Halair Lake is a lake in Hanoi, Vietnam, located next to Nguyễn Du Street, which used to be named "Rue Halais" under the French (1888-1945), hence the name "Halais". According to Vietnamese sources, it should be spelled "Halais Lake", the French name for the lake called "Hồ Thiền Quang" in Vietnamese.

Temple of Literature, Hanoi

The Temple of Literature is a former center of learning in Hanoi. It is a temple of Confucius and includes the "Imperial Academy", Vietnam's first national university. The temple was built in 1070 at the time of King Lý Nhân Tông. It is one of several temples in Vietnam which are dedicated to Confucius, sages and scholars. The Temple is located to the south of Thang Long Citadel.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (Abbreviated as HUST; Vietnamese: Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội, French: Institut Polytechnique de Hanoï, "Polytechnic University of Hanoi", "Hanoi University of Technology "), founded 1956, is the first and largest technical university in Vietnam.

Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts

The Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts is located in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is a museum showcasing Vietnam's fine arts from every historical period. It is the country's primary art museum, the second being the smaller Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts. The site, No.66 Nguyễn Thái Học Street, was selected by painter Nguyễn Đỗ Cung in 1963. The building, built in 1937, was an abandoned Catholic girl's boarding house. Next door at No.65 was an artists colony.

Hanoi Hilton

The Hỏa Lò Prison was a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for prisoners of war during the Vietnam War when it was sarcastically known to American prisoners of war as the "Hanoi Hilton". The prison was demolished during the 1990s, though the gatehouse remains as a museum.
