Thien Mu Pagoda

Thien Mu Pagoda is a historic temple in the city of Huế in Vietnam. Its pagoda has seven storeys and is the tallest in Vietnam. The temple is often the subject of folk rhymes and ca dao about Huế, such is its iconic status and association with the city. It is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the former imperial capital. Huong Tra District

Hương Trà is a rural district of Thua Thien-Huế province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 114,985. The district covers an area of 521 km². The district capital lies at Tu Ha. The district is located on the northern outskirts of Huế, the major town in the district and the second largest town in central Vietnam after Da Nang.

Battle of Hue

The Battle of Huế during 1968 (also called the Siege of Huế), was one of the bloodiest and longest battles of the Vietnam War (1959–1975). Battalions of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN), two U.S. Army battalions, and three understrength U.S. Marine Corps battalions defeated more than 10,000 soldiers of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN or NVA) and the Viet Cong (Việt Cộng or VC, also known as National Liberation Front or NLF).
