Darling Downs Power Station

Darling Downs Power Station is located 40 km west of Dalby in Queensland and owned by Origin Energy. The Darling Downs Power Station is adjacent to the QLD-NSW high voltage transmission Interconnector and Power Link 320/270 kV Substation. Darling Downs is a gas fired combined cycle gas turbine power station and is the largest of its type in Australia. It is powered by three 120 MW gas turbines and one 270 MW steam turbine, which generate a total of 630 MW of electricity.

Hopeland, Queensland

Hopeland is a farming district south east of Chinchilla, Queensland, on the Darling Downs famous for its rich black, fertile soils. The district is situated on the Southern Brigalow Belt bioregion of Queensland.
