Seaside is located 2.25 miles east-northeast of Monterey, at an elevation of 33 feet (10 m). Monterey Regional Airport is a regional airport located three miles (5 km) southeast of the central business district (CBD) of Monterey, a city in Monterey County, California, USA. It was created in 1936. The airport was known as the Monterey Peninsula Airport until a vote of the airport's board of directors authorized renaming the airport on September 14, 2011.
