Marina is a city in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 19,718 at the 2010 census. Marina is located along the central coast of California, 8 miles west of Salinas, and 8 miles north of Monterey, at an elevation of 43 feet (13 m). Marina was incorporated in 1975 and is the newest city on the Monterey Peninsula.

KIDD

KIDD, is a radio station broadcasting a sports format. Licensed to Monterey, California, USA, the station serves the Santa Cruz area. The station is currently owned by Buckley Communications. It is simulcast on KYZZ 97.9. For many years the station offered an adult standards/MOR format, using the name "Magic 63". On April 7, 2009, the station shifted to a different playlist comprising a wide range of mid-1950s to 1970s pop songs.

Marina State Beach

Marina State Beach is a 170-acre protected beach located in Marina, California. It is popular with hang-gliders, paragliders and kite flyers. It is also a popular spot from which to watch the sun set. Surfers frequent Marina State Beach due to its reliable waves. The dunes are some of the highest on the Central California coast, and provide homes to unique wildlife. A short interpretive trail (0.6 miles) provides visitors with information about the habitat and inhabitants of the dunes.

Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy

The Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy (MIRA) is a privately established, non-profit, professional organization for astronomical education and research, near Monterey, California. It is located adjacent to the campus of the California State University, Monterey Bay, within the city limits of Marina, California. California State University, Monterey Bay

California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is a small public university in the California State University system on the site of the former U.S. Army base Fort Ord, on the Central Coast of California. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. CSUMB was founded in 1994 with a student enrollment of 654 students. The founding president was Peter Plympton Smith, PhD.
