Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club

The Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club is a country club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The club hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007, yet staged the last Titleholders Championship in 1972. Those tournaments were won by Annika Sörenstam, Karrie Webb, Cristie Kerr, and Sandra Palmer respectively.

The 2007 U.S. Women's Open was played from June 28 to July 1 at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. It was won by Cristie Kerr by two strokes over Angela Park and Lorena Ochoa. The victory was the first major championship won by Kerr.

Moore County Airport (North Carolina)

Moore County Airport is a public airport located 3 miles (5 km) north of Southern Pines and 5 miles northeast of Pinehurst, in Moore County, North Carolina, USA. The airport covers 500 acres and has one runway, in the past it had a grass runway. The airport is used for general aviation, however it has had commercial air service, through US Airways affiliate CCair, which ceased in 2002 as a result of the 9/11 attacks and Delta Airlines which ceased in 2007.

Southern Pines (Amtrak station)

The Southern Pines Amtrak Station, located in Southern Pines, North Carolina, is served by the passenger train. The street address is 235 Northwest Broad Street, and is located in the heart of historic downtown Southern Pines. The station was originally built by a predecessor of the Seaboard Air Line Railway in 1898, renovated in 1948, and restored to its 1948 design in 2004. There is no Amtrak ticket office at this station, but there is "Quik-Trak" machine for automated ticketing.

SandHoke Early College

SandHoke Early College is a school in North Carolina, United States. The school is in Hoke County. SandHoke is a program in which roughly 50 students, who have gone through a rigorous application process, enter the school for 5 years. The students agree to go 5 years in order to receive both a high school diploma and associates degree, if they work hard enough. The students attend a Hoke campus for three years to complete all high school courses.
