Mount Holly is a small suburban city in northeastern Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The city is situated just west of the Catawba River, north of Interstate 85, south of North Carolina State Highway 16, and west of Charlotte. East Gaston High School

East Gaston High School (also referred to as East Gaston, East, or EGHS) is a public high school that is part of the Gaston County Schools and is located in Mount Holly, North Carolina, United States. The school was established in 1972 when high schools in the neighboring communities of Mount Holly and Stanley were consolidated. Mary Help of Christians Abbey, better known as Belmont Abbey, is a small community of Benedictine monks in the town of Belmont, North Carolina, outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the United States.
