Fier County

The County of Fier (Albanian: Qarku i Fierit) is one of the 12 counties of Albania. It consists of the districts of Fier, Lushnjë and Mallakastër and its capital is Fier. Devoll (river)

The Devoll is a river in southern Albania, one of the source rivers of the Seman. Its source is in the southwestern corner of the Devoll District, close to the Greek frontier. It flows initially northeast, through Miras, then north through Bilisht, and northwest through Progër, Pojan (in the northern Plain of Korçë), Maliq, Moglicë, Kodovjat, Gramsh and Gostimë, where it turns south. It joins the Osum near Kuçovë, to form the Seman.

Osum

The Osum is a river in southern Albania, one of the source rivers of the Seman. Its source is in the southern part of the Korçë District, near the village Vithkuq which rearches at an elevation of 1,050 metres . It flows initially south to the Kolonjë District, then west to Çepan, and northwest through Çorovodë, Poliçan, Berat and Urë Vajgurore. It joins the Devoll near Kuçovë, to form the Seman. The discharge of the river is reported to vary between 5.11 m /s and 74.11 m /s.

Battle of Savra

The Battle of Savra was fought on 18 September 1385 between Ottoman and much smaller Serbian forces. In 1385 Balsa Balsich conquered Durazzo,presumably from Karlo Thopia. In a charter to Dubrovnik issued in April 1385, he called himself Duke of Durazzo. He was not to enjoy his prize for long. That summer a Turkish raiding party for the first time penetrated to the Adriatic and Ionian coast.
