Diana Veteranorum

Zana or Diana Veteranorum was an ancient Roman city in Algeria. It was located about 40 km northwest of Lambaesis. Zana was founded in the connection with the settling of Roman veterans in northern Africa under the emperor Trajan (98-117). An older Numidian settlement was merged with a new veteran settlement into the city of Zana. Around 161/162 AD during the governorship of D. Fonteius Frontinianus the city was granted the status of a municipium. In 164/165 AD the legate C.
