Oliveros, Santa Fe

Oliveros is a town in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. The municipality has 4,750 inhabitants and is classed as a comuna. It is located in the Iriondo Department, 126 km south from the capital of the province. Oliveros is home to a large public psychiatric treatment center and residence (Colonia Psiquiátrica Dr. A. I. Freyre) that is run by the provincial government. About 700 patients are overseen by the center, with 500 living permanently within it.

San Carlos Convent

Battle of San Lorenzo

The Battle of San Lorenzo was fought on February 3, 1813 in San Lorenzo, Argentina, then part of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata. A Spanish Royalist force under the command of Antonio Zabala was defeated by the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers, under the command of José de San Martín. This battle was the baptism of fire for this military unit, and for San Martín in the Spanish American wars of independence.

Roldán, Santa Fe

Roldán is a small city in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, located within the metropolitan area of Greater Rosario. According to the 2001 census, it had a population of 11,470 inhabitants. Its area is 114 km². Roldán is about 23 km east of the center of the city of Rosario, within the San Lorenzo Department, beside the National Route 9 and the Rosario-Córdoba Highway. It was founded in 1870, and officially became a city in 1987. In 2005, the Mayor of Roldán was José María Pedretti.
