Namadgi National Park

Namadgi National Park is in the south-west of the Australian Capital Territory, bordering Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales. It lies approximately 40 kilometres southwest of Canberra, and makes up approximately 46% of the ACT's land area. The park protects part of the northern end of the Australian Alps with its spectacular granite mountains. Its habitat ranges from grassy plains over snow gum forests to alpine meadows.

Mount Kelly

Mount Kelly (1,829 m) is the tallest peak in the Scabby Range and is situated on the border of the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales. The ACT portion is located within Namadgi National Park and the NSW side within the Scabby Nature Reserve. The Scabby Range includes Mount Scabby (1,798 m) which is the source of the Cotter River. The area surrounding Mount Kelly is a wilderness area which was severely affected by bushfires in 2003 and is slowly regenerating.

Orroral Valley Tracking Station

The Orroral Valley tracking station supported Earth-orbiting satellites, as part of NASA's Spacecraft Tracking and Data Acquisition Network (STADAN). It is located approximately 50 kilometres south of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It was one of three tracking stations in the ACT, and seven in Australia. Construction of the site commenced shortly after site selection in 1963 and was completed in May 1965.

Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex

The Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSCC) is a ground station that is located in Australia at Tidbinbilla in the Paddys River (a tributory of the Cotter River) valley, about an hour's drive out of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. The complex is part of the Deep Space Network run by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
