Abercrombie Caves

Also known as Abercrombie Karst Conservation Reserve. Abercrombie Caves lie between Bathurst and Crookwell in New South Wales, Australia, near the small village of Trunkey Creek. The cave complex is an example of a limestone arch formation that has been eroded by water action, it has developed from a sinkhole that became a blind valley. Several good examples of crayback formations exist in both entrances.

Tuena, New South Wales

Tuena is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Upper Lachlan Shire. It is located on Tuena Creek, tributary of the Abercrombie River, 269 kilometres west of the state capital, Sydney. Only nine months after the first payable discovery of gold in Austraia at Ophir (start of the Australian gold rushes), gold was found at Tuena.

Grove Creek Observatory

Grove Creek Observatory is in Trunkey Creek, New South Wales, Australia. It advertises that it has the darkest night skies and best seeing conditions of any observatory in Australia. It is located about 4 hours drive from Sydney, Australia. It is run by Jim Lynch and Greg Ford. It is a non-profit research facility associated with Wheaton College in Massachusetts, USA and also provides remote internet access to its telescopes for the general public and astronomers.

Trunkey Creek, New South Wales

Trunkey Creek is a village located in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia in Bathurst Regional Council. It is about 80 kilometres south of the city of Bathurst and about 130 kilometres north of the city of Goulburn on the Bathurst Goulburn Road. At the 2006 census, Trunkey Creek had a population of 122 people.
