Not to be confused with Aberfeldie, Victoria, a suburb 9km north-west of Melbourne Aberfeldy is a small town in Victoria, Australia. It is located on Mount Lookout, north east of Lake Thomson, 125 kilometres east of Melbourne. The area was settled in 1871 following the discovery of gold, a Post Office opening on 1 January 1872 (closed 1967). The town was surveyed and proclaimed in 1885. It was initially known as Mount Lookout, but was eventually renamed after the Scottish town of Aberfeldy.

The Jordan River Diversion Tunnel - a relic of the Victorian gold rush - is on the Jordan River near the locality of Jericho, about 7 km south of Woods Point in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The tunnel is about 30 m long x 4 m high x 3 m wide, cut through rock. The river still runs through it. No record has been found of the tunnel's construction and use.

The Thomson River is a river in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It starts below Newlands at the north western end of the Baw Baw Plateau at an elevation of 972 m, where it shares a watershed with the Yarra River and Tanjil River, and ends at an elevation of 1.55 m merging with the Latrobe River near Sale. The Thomson River drops around 970 m over its 170 km length. The Thomson Valley was intensively mined for gold during the latter half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Baw Baw is a national park in Victoria, Australia, 111 km east of Melbourne. It contains the Baw-Baw Plateau and Mount Baw Baw, a small ski resort, including nearby town, technically outside the national park. Geographically, Baw-Baw plateau is a plateau of several peaks (Mount Baw Baw, Mount St Gwinear, Mount St Phillack, Mount Erica and Mount Whitelaw) of largely subalpine terrane outcrops of weathered granite boulders dot the plateau with alpine meadows punctuated by stands of snow-gum.

Woods Point, Victoria
Woods Point is a small town in Victoria, Australia. At the 2006 census, Woods Point and the surrounding area had a population of 94. The town began as a general store built by Henry Wood, to service the gold diggings around the recently discovered Morning Star Reef. Wood's Point Post Office opened on 1 December 1862. By 1864, only three years after the discovery of the gold reef, the area had become a thriving town with 36 hotels.
