Strike-a-Light River

Strike-a-Light River, a perennial stream that is part of the Murrumbidgee catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the Monaro region of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range, near Jerangle, and flows generally north north-west, north-west, south-west and then south, joined by three minor tributaries, before reaching its confluence with the Bredbo River, east of Bredbo; descending 464 metres over its 38 kilometres course.

Bredbo, New South Wales

Bredbo is a village on the Monaro plains of New South Wales, Australia. The village is on the Monaro Highway 33 kilometres north of Cooma. The village is in the Cooma-Monaro Shire shire and had a population of 169 people in 2006. The village developed to support squatters' runs established in the district between 1848 to 1850. Bredbo was proclaimed a village in 1888. Gold was discovered in the area by the Reverend William Branwhite Clarke, who also discovered gold at Kiandra. http://www. smh.

Jerangle is a small country village in New South Wales, Australia on the coastal side of Bredbo. It contains a cemetery, two churches, a school, a CWA hall and phone box. It is a community with a population of about 100. The main location is the school; Jerangle Public School. Bredbo River, a perennial stream that is part of the Murrumbidgee catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the Monaro region of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range at Bald Hill and flows generally west, joined by seven tributaries including Strike-a-Light River, before reaching its confluence with the Murrumbidgee River about 8 kilometres south–east of Bredbo; dropping 688 metres over its course of 52 kilometres .
