Branxton is a town in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. Branxton is 171 kilometres north of Sydney via the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway and New England Highway. Branxton is located mostly in Cessnock City Council, but part of it is in Singleton Shire. Together with nearby Greta, it had a population of 3,805 in 2001. Branxton is a railway station on the Main North Line of New South Wales, Australia. CityRail operates diesel self-propelled railcars through Branxton as part of its Hunter Line regional service from Newcastle. The station serves the town of Branxton, New South Wales, Australia. Historically, the next outbound station was Belford, however this station was closed on 4 September 2005.

Belford railway station

Belford railway station is a closed station located on CityRail's Hunter line. Until 4 September 2005, when it was closed for safety reasons, it served the town of Belford in New South Wales, Australia. The station consists of 2 platforms approximately 3 metres long. Until its closure, the station contained various safety features, including lighting and security cameras. Passengers would have to cross the tracks to access both platforms.
